Found this restaurant using yelp. Very well decorated restaurant. I tried the shrimp bisque soup and it was great. Also waitress suggested putting blackened shrimp on the Small plate(appetizer) Baby Portabella Mushroom Ragu. That was perfect. And I ended up having that as my main course sense so filling. Thank you, will be back. Thank you Michelle, Server, for recommendation and perfect dinner.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our lunch. Great food , good service, nice atmosphere and decent prices. I got the shrimp massina and my husband got the chicken scaloppine and we both enjoyed a Caesar salad. I gave my husband a bite of mine so he let me try his.. I told him it was delicious ...he replied " you can like it but don't make your home here". I had never heard that before...he said it means " get your fork off my plate you can't have it".! Lol. That's ok because mine was Divine !!

What a wonderful wonderful meal, and I am sad I waited so long to review it. Came here while on vacation with my husband for our year anniversary. The ambiance is beautiful. Dim lighting, hopping bar area, comfy booths. The yelp check in free Italian nachos were delicious. All the food we ordered was absolutely perfect. We got a tiramisu cake that was fantastiic that night and ever better the next night. Every bit of my meal had me oowing and aahing. Only wish I lived far far closer so I could visit again.

Amazing food and an unexpectedly quiet surrounding. Our waiter was attentive and upbeat, and the experience was made even better by their white sangrias. I recommend the Pollo Isabella or Pasta Mia Nonna...and definitely the tiramisu for dessert!

Great Italian restaurant.. Awesome entrees and drinks. Atmosphere was nice too, you can dine inside or outside.

The exquisite nature of a warm atmosphere combined with a truly amazing service is why this has to be one of the best Italian rooted restaurants I have ever been in. The conceirge was very friendly and warm the waiter guber was friendly and well mannered and spoke to each member of the party to ensure they were made welcome. Food was spot on and on time.

Everything we ordered was delicious!! The waitress was sweet n everything came out on time. And the atmosphere was nice. Place was gorgeous!! Would definitely go back again when we r back in Destin.

wow, this place is amazing on multiple levels. food was awesome, and when I mentioned that my chicken was more cooked than I liked, the waitress got it rectified immediately and the manager quickly came out to check on the entire party and gave a round of drinks (on him) to me and my dining companion. food was so delicious, ambiance amazing with frank sinatra era music; such a great vibe...prices reasonable...totally recommend, must try. ashley, our waitress, was sooo attentive and awesome, ask for her, she will totally take care of you!!

One reviewer said this was Olive Garden with good design. I trust that reviewers eyes, but not their taste. From the Italian Nachos to the Tiramisu, my wife and I delighted in each item. She even ordered an extra order of sauce to put atop the remaining noodles from the Veal Parm. On an island overrun by chains, this was a welcome reprieve.

We love this place! Finally decided to do a review after visiting several times. First of all, two tips: 1) Ladies, they frequently have "winey chicks" nights. You pay $35 (I think. It may be $30?) for a four course sampler menu with a complementary glass of wine with each course. Amazing value, and you get to try new things! 2) CHECK IN ON YELP HERE. We received free nachos with our meal tonight for checking in. The nachos were amazing! They're made up of chips, black olives, tomatoes, scallions, sausage, banana peppers and a fantastic cheese sauce. Seriously these were awesome! We came on Wednesday, which is half off martini night (4p-8p), making them $4.99 each. Amazing deal! My mom had the pineapple breeze and loved it. I had the Italian Honey (jack Daniels honey, tuaca, and Italian soda). Delicious! Tuesdays are 25% wine nights. Sundays are $4 sangria. Monday thru Friday, they have happy hour 3-7 with special priced appetizers and $1 off wine and beer. For entrees, my mom had the chicken saltimbocca, which she always has and loves. My dad had the roasted chicken. It comes with a hearty portion of chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. I had the short rib rigatoni. I love this dish! It's unique and always well executed. The short rib is so tender. It comes with a Bolognese sauce and a bit of mascarpone cream, which is my favorite part. Overall, you can't go wrong here. Entrees are priced essentially between $12-29, so some entrees are a bit on the pricey side, but there is consistently great quality and service. Everyone is knowledgable and helpful. Don't forget to check out the three fire pits outside and spacious patio seating!

Facility & service was amazing, drinks were amazing, however, pasta were undercooked, and flatbreads were extra greasy. Def overrated Italian restaurant.

Finally gave this place another try and I'm so glad I did! Much better experience - food was so much better and the beer is still just as cold! The Chicken Piccata was excellent this time. The service was great - Stephanie took awesome care of our table, and the manager, Matt, was very gracious to us. We will definitely go back!

Had dinner here (first time) last week with friends. At 6:30pm there was no wait to be seated. We sat outside and with the ceiling fans and the doors to the restaurant open we were very comfortable. Our server was very prompt taking our drink and appetizer orders. Highly recommend the crab cakes-lots of crab/minimal "cake"! I had the Baby Portabell Mushroom Ragu w polenta (creamy grits) as my entree (I added shrimp at recommendation of a our server and glad I did!) Everyone else was equally happy with their entrees: Shrimp Fa Diavlo, pan roasted chicken(awesome Brussels sprouts), and Sinatra chicken. Dessert: creme brûlée-good and creamy and tiramisu-enough for 2-3 to share and a bit too fluffy for me. Will definitely go back! Very nice overall experience!

Love the herb crusted lemon sole. Wonderfully cooked and moist. The risotto was just enough with spinach and red peppers. Yummy! Nachos were off the chain-definitely try them as a starter.

Had the roasted chicken with finger potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Tasty with lots of garlic. Rec'd free nachos plus hot bread. Filled and satisfied.

We came here last night and had to come back for lunch before we headed back home!!! The portabella mushroom ragu is to die for!!!

  • Nicole G.

Had a family dinner for 10 here on Wednesday. We went early and had no trouble getting a table. Service was great, drinks were frequently refreshed, and food was delicious. The polenta and Mac and cheese were so tasty and my roasted Brussels sprouts were excellent as well. My husband did have to send his chicken parm back because the chicken was a little on the pink side, but they quickly fixed it and apologized. Also just an FYI the sauce on the kids pizza was on the spicy side, my daughter complained and I gave her grief until I tasted it. She ended up eating some of my son's butter noodles and I ate her pizza. I would definitely go back again, but probably not with kids.

Great happy hour on cocktails on Wednesday nights and italian nachos are phenomenal. The bartenders are very friendly and know their craft. I've tried a few pasta dishes (marsala and parmigiana) and they were fantastic. The happy hour menus is also good and I wish they would serve the ceviche on a regular basis. Dog friendly on the patio.

Been here a few times since it's right by my house, Nice, roomy interior and big fire places are plus but tastewise, nothing special. My favorite was fried zucchinis appetizer which is very simple to cook.... Pasta wasn't bad...but still nothing special.... I'd still take my co-workers or new friends (since it's quite fancy ). but when I'm really with someone close (b.f or bff) I would still go to the Tuscany on hwy98 for better quality of food and laid back atmosphere.

We've been three times this year and are pleased each time we go! We were there in March and it was nice to eat outside with the fire pits on to keep warm by. We went in June and again in July. So yummy and authentic tasting--not chain food, pre-cooked, ordinary tasting entrees, but really fresh pasta and ingredients on top! I hope you enjoy it too!!

Food was good but not excellent. Hostess we're not friendly. Tried calling ahead for large party would not take reservations yet when we got there we were told we could have. Never received our text yet was told they were waiting for us. Would not go back. Nice atmosphere though. Looks we're deceiving.

  • Tory G.

The service was great, the menu was extensive, and the atmosphere great, but the portion sizes were tiny! I had the chicken piccata and it was just lacking flavor, I needed to add salt and pepper to give it something. I normally never finish a plate, but the size of the chicken and the serving of pasta was so small! However, another in my party had the lasagne and it looked great!

  • Jayden H.

I eat here all the time. it's a very fancy Italian franchise restaurant. I always get the pasta mia nona and nachos with chicken. the thing I like most about the place is that you can see the cooks/servers preparing your food through the glass. the thing I dislike the most is that the prices go up about $4-5 for dinner, but the menu doesn't change. I sometimes come for lunch and my total would be around $17. but when I come for dinner and order the SAME thing, it costs me $30.

They did a great job on my recent special event. Food and service are both excellent and you will love working with them. Oh, and the crab cakes rock!

We came again and I ordered the same thing! They were very accommodating and it was divine! We tried the crab cake appetizer and it was delish! Definitely try this restaurant-you will be happy you did. I can't wait until we live in Destin so I can come here weekly!

Excellent service, excellent suggestions. Don't miss the mussels and the spinach salad with goat's cheese. Divine.

Ok, I realize this was my first time here so maybe I have no cred with the "in" crowd. However, it was 3 in the afternoon and we had to wait to be seated with no business in sight. Even though the bartender was our server, the wait to order was too long. No bread in sight before or after drink orders. In fact, I had to run the server down personally to ensure we were going to get some. The food was delicious. ..though the lasagna was a tad overdone. I would recommend the place as it was delicious ...just wished the service were a little better. Enjoy!

Tried to have dinner there last week while on vacation. We arrived around 8:30 and attempted to find an appropriate place to sit, the outside bar had a blower that was blowing down on us and it was cold air, told that it couldn't be turned off. The bartender ignored us, so we decided to leave. As we approached the door to leave about 4 or 5 staff were standing around. They encouraged us to try again, so we turn around and go to an outside sitting area. Finally someone comes to the table to serve us. We're told they close the kitchen and the bar in 5 mins, mind you it's now around 9:00 pm. We were told we could order one drink before they closed. Needless to say we gathered our things and once again walked out. As we were leaving a group of 8 came to the door to be served, they too were turned away. The front door says the restaurant stays open to 11:00 by the way. There was staff to serve us and there were still people dining in the restaurant. This is a chain restaurant and I hope that upper management investigates this. By the way, we ended up at Carrabba's and had a very nice server that was thrilled to make some money! We tip well and we expect excellent service. And while we're on vacation we don't want to have to worry about being rushed to order our dinner and only allowed one drink. Travinia in Destin won't stay in business with that mentality!

Love the ambiance of this restaurant!! This was our first time here and everything was great!! Our server suggested the Acrobat pinot noir and it was spot on!! My husband had the crab cakes which were delicious and I had the wild mushroom carbonara....amazing!!!!

Went in late on Easter and opted to sit at the inside bar and I'm glad we did. The bartenders made our evening so fun. The bar is a large rectangle shape and has a large indoor section and the other half is also a large bar where the barstools are on the patio side .The menu has a lot of great choices and we enjoyed and shared several dishes. If you want a more quiet "adult" evening then chose a table inside or sit at the bar as the patio was "family friendly" and had a lot of kiddos running around and it's also located next door to the movie theater, They also had a nice touch of having a selection of reading glasses at the Host stand for those who need to borrow them.

My husband and I visited this place for our 3rd anniversary and absolutely LOVED it! The atmosphere was romantic and casual and the service we very very good :) The food was great too. Next time we go we are going to try and take advantage of the fire pits out front :)

A Quiet Thursday night in fall. Nice Had Fried gnocchi appetizer. Pizza was perfectly cooked and tasty. Thin Crust. Service friendly and personable. I ended up returning for another pizza. Glad I did. I live on the west coast so it might be a long time before I return but if we do, I will stop in.

We had great salads, a flat bread, and pasta dish- all were delicious and fresh. Lovely environment and good wine selection as well. A great reliable place for vacationers with reasonable prices

Went back and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was a little busy so our server couldn't come to our table immediately...understandable, no big deal. Our server was a delight. She took great care of us. The food was spot on. It was exactly what I was hoping for. We will definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite places to dine. It's right below my office and within a few miles from where I live. I get take out food here a few times a month and love the food, the service and the place is just awesome looking! I go out of my way to dine here and love coming back! Thanks guys and gals!

Ate here twice in the past week I was so impressed. The first night I have the Pasta Mia Nona and tasted my friends' chicken Marsala and chicken Piccata. All were full of flavor. I also added a Caesar salad which was freshly made, and you could even taste the anchovies. The waitstaff both times were extremely friendly. On my second visit I redeemed the free nachos you get for checking in on Yelp. They were really tasty. Don't pass this place up!

We had a great dinner here while on vacation. The bread was awesome! I had blackened chicken Alfredo and I was stuffed. Seats out on the patio were great with the mild weather. BTW. This is restaurant is home to the largest pepper shaker.

Horrible first experience. Thought this would be a nice place to celebrate my birthday, wrong! Made reservations and upon arrival we waited 5 minutes for a hostess as did other guests. Restaurant was not busy. Once hostess arrived didn't apologize or greet us. We were not seated at the location we reserved. Our waitress turned out to be the bartender and phone in order girl as well. Mojito had no fresh mint and tasted like nothing I've ever had before. Waitress got offended when I asked for a different drink. Out of no where we were transferred to a different waiter. Had to start all over with him and explain what we had ordered. Table bread was good, Caesar salad was ok but had some questionable pieces of lettuce. Pasta was just ok. For a Saturday night in San Destin the place was only 1/4 full which should tell you something.

my momma and my papa are The Italian, so what does that make me? I dunno, crazy? I am always hesitant to try an "authintico" Italiana restauranté for obvious reasons. It is very hard to find a good one. I went here only because I wanted a change from my normal Italian restaurant (I will not name names). I wanted to give them 3.5 stars but not choice for that , it was not quite four. The food, it was good but not great. I ordered the Pollo Isabella the beurre blanc sauce, it was a disaster. Tasted like too much white wine with melted butter. Hope it was just that batch and not the recipe. Mamma mia! Other than that it was up to my standards. I would go again to retry. My waitress Julia(I believe) was ben fatto!!! Best part of the trip!

This restaurant was simply amazing!! Me and my family of four went here for dinner on a tuesday night and got right in! To start we had their bread with olive oil and pepper! It was very hot and tasty! We also each got a salad to start, the Caesar was very rich and creamy, not to mention delicious! For my entree i got the Pasta Mia Nona, it was one of the most wonderful things i have ever tasted! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the asiago garlic sauce was devine! I would recommend this dish to everyone!! The service was great and the atmosphere was great! I especially loved the open kitchen! I will definitely be back here soon!!

Our server Jeremy was amazing. The entire staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Each time someone passed our table they spoke or removed something from the table. Our entrees were tasty and timely. Very reasonably priced. If in Sandestin, Travinia would be a great place to have dinner.

Check in via yelp for a free Italian nachos! Great value, we had the Sinatra chicken and chicken marsala. Sinatra was the better of the two. Sangria special for happy hour was also good. I will return.

Wow. Beautiful place with a nice patio. Great service from Nick, who also bartends. Great recommendations for martinis which were half price for happy hour on Wednesday. All three were excellent. The bread and parmesan garlic fries we had to start were fantastic. Tenderloin medallions were absolutely perfect medium rare. My girl got the chicken scaloppine and said it was the best she's had. With a true Caesar salad. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful restaurant. Love the open kitchen and the layout. We went to bar first for cocktails and we all loved what we ordered. I had the Calm Before the Storm and it was so good. I love that they have ginger beer! We had so many great starters at the beginning of our meal that I wasn't that hungry when it came to order dinner so I got the mussels for dinner and I'm so glad that I did. They were amazing. Loved the spicy broth and the fresh tomatoes. Their Italian nachos were surprisingly very good as well. I'm not much of a nachos fan but someone at the table ordered them and they were so delicious. Our server Tonya was super knowledgeable about the menu and extremely helpful when we were placing our order. We were out having a great dinner and took our time and she was super attentive to us the entire evening. We will definitely be back!

2 visits----2 guests----2 very different opinions Oh how I want to love this place. The restaurant itself is beautiful & the location is great. The staff was friendly and efficient and the menu features something for everyone. The food in my opinion was not good, and lets face it thats what you have to nail if people are going to come back. Margerhita Pizza--very dry and flavorless///Fettucine Alfredo--bland, bland and more bland**salad wasn't so special either, only 2 croutons on the plate which were stale and I had to pick out easily 1/3 of the lettuce because it was wilted My friend however LOVED all the food he tried...PEI oysters, Pollo Isabella, Tenderloin Medallions and Beef & Veal Tortellacci (sp?). I haven't given up on Travinia food yet, but so far I've been so disappointed. Maybe I'll just come here for cocktails...

Cool vibe, great set up, and good service. Had the nachos for an app. Not bad, but I thought the cheese they use was a weird pairing with the heavy chips. Ordered the Pollo Isabelle for dinner. Great low carb option (chicken and spinach- not easy to find at an Italian place!) and it was great. Good wine list, not so much on the beer options, but an overall good choice.

Staff has not a clue what is going on. Botched reservations on their part for a party of 8. Manager would not even come out to hostess station to discuss. Ridiculous to treat locals like this whom are the bread and butter.

    (1)
  • Kim C.

Came back to give it another try for lunch. The hostess needs a little more coaching on how to say hello and smile but our waitress was great and the food was much better this time. We had the zucchini small plate to start and it was delicious. I had the spaghetti bolognese and my daughter had the pesto chicken sandwich. Both were tasty.

Excellent food, great service and a "must" to visit! We sat on the patio and enjoy the evening by the fire pit. The entrees were fabulous and couldn't have asked for a better evening! We'll definitely return!

Updating my review - came back to give it another shot. Had dinner before going to see a movie next door. We sat outside and it was a gorgeous night. Service was great as it always has been. I ordered the $4 sangria for sangria Sunday, it was ok. I got the pasta Mia Nona which was really good. My date got the grouper with asparagus and said it was great. I was impressed with the food this time around and glad we came back to give it another shot.

Multiple botched reservations including a party of 8 made weeks in advance for December 30th with out of town guests. Manager would not come out to discuss error and we were turned away at the door. Good food.... terrible management and even worse customer service. I do not recommend Travinia to any other Sandestin owners

What a nice surprise in this hidden restaurant! Well not really hidden I just never knew it was there. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff were very accommodating and made you feel special. The food was excellent. I had the chicken Marsala and loved it. My sister had the spaghetti and it was delicious. I don't eat spaghetti out as a rule but I would definitely order it here. Can't wait to go back!

Much better experience tonight. Made a reservation which was very handy as there would have been a wait. Would have preferred to sit in main dining rather than seating in the bar area. A bit too much traffic going to and fro. Wendy was our server and did an excellent job from start to finish, very personable and quick. Ordered the zucchini appetizer, we ate about 1/4 of it, a little too greasy in our opinion. Went with the filet and medallions of filet. Both very good and tasty. Ordered a dessert to share the apple crustada, again very good. A nice night, and a nice experience. We will return.

My family went for lunch recently and we were very impressed all around. The service was excellent, and the server (Patrick) was prepared to answer all of our questions about the menu. We ordered mussels and calamari for appetizers and both were delicious. A few of the mussels did not open and our server brought them back to the kitchen and brought them out, open on a fresh plate. Our various entrees, ranging from pasta to chicken to seafood was all cooked fresh to order (including the sauces!) and each was phenomenal. The decor was delightful and clean and we also really loved that you can look right into the kitchen. We will definitely be back.

The new baby portabella ragu appetizer was out of this world!! Served on a bed of polenta it was the hit of our meal. Kids loved it as much as adults. Also had muscles as an appetizer with it which were great. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The staff was attentive but not "in your face". Highly recommend.

My first experience at Travinia was a pleasant one. From the time my party of six entered until we departed three hours later, we were impressed with the service, the prices, the quality of food delivered and the short amount of time for food preparation. I especially enjoyed the spaciousness of this restaurant with low noise levels for easy talking with the group I was with that evening. We will all return soon and look forward to the outdoor seating when it warms up this spring!

This was the perfect little get away from the carnival of Destin Beach. If you are looking for great food and a great staff away from the tee shirt shops and regurgitated McFriday's menus...this is your place. With a great culinary twist on even simple items like nachos, this destination does not disappoint. They also have some great innovations that will allow you to sample wine off the "bottle only" menu for a fraction of the price.

This place was amazing! First, the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Also, the food is simply delicious! The complimentary bread was warm and tasted good! Everyone in my party ordered a salad. I had the Caesar salad which tasted great! The dressing was creamy and delicious. Next came the entrees. I ordered the Margarita pizza which was pretty good. The crust was amazing, but the cheese was just okay. Two people I was with ordered the Pasta Mia Nona and said it was one of the best meals they had ever had! Overall, it was a great experience and I would love to go back!

Was very excited by the menu but everything I ordered was incredibly salty. Not a bit too salty but unappetizing. I do not recommend this place unless the kitchen staff takes more of an effort to taste whats leaving the kitchen. It was very disappointing.

First, the bar, the interior, and the setting was very nice. I could spend an afternoon there. The two stars is for a very specific food complaint. My veal saltimbocca was very good, but my wife opted for the pizza margherita. They brag on the sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes, but evidently they only put the sauce on a couple of the pizzas they offer. Her "pizza" did not come with sauce and was therefore just dry flat bread with some roasted tomatoes and basil. Guys, pizza is supposed to have sauce on it - that's a given right? Also, the cheese on the pizza was not real mozzarella. It didn't stretch and it became hard and stiff after a couple of minutes. As far as pizza goes, it was pretty bad but is easily fixable. First, pizza has SAUCE. You don't need very much, but a little goes a long way. Next, REAL mozzarella. There is no substitute. Perhaps being a chain, these subtle changes are not possible without a corporate edict, but pizza is about as easy as it gets. If you screw this up, what does that say about your kitchen? Get this right and I think you have a winner.

Thank you honest Yelper's went because great reviews and we were not let down had the Crab cakes that where awesome lots of lump crab meat also the Cioppino Amaifi was the best. The bread fresh baked steaming hot was delicious as well comes free with the meal. We are locals that will for sure make it one of our regular places to dine. Thanks Yelper's for another spot on review!

Let me tell you about a little Italian place I visited while here in Florida. First off we came to this place because a friend of mine recommended it to me, upon entering it is a nice spacious area and we were greeted within seconds. We got to our table and this is where the fun begins! We started our meal with the Antipasto Platter and the Crab cake Travinia. Both of which were out of this world! Can't forget to say free bread! My friend then decided to order the Sinatra Chicken, I got to have a bite and it was delicious!!! I decided to go with the Cioppino Amalfi(or however it's spelled) and it may be the only thing that I ever order from there again, not because I don't want to try the whole menu but because it was so amazing! The staff was very attentive and we had no problems getting more drinks or asking questions about the menu. A good looking gentleman came and greeted us after our meals had been served and asked us what we thought, I believe his name was Jason and is the manager of this fine establishment. He told us that they haven't even been open a year yet! I love going to a place where the management actually cares about what's going on, so for him to come out and greet all the tables that was the icing on the cake for me! Well, until I actually had some cake!!! Dessert time! My friend went and had the Chocolate cake with raspberry puree and I had the New York style cheesecake and once again we were not disappointed!!! Whenever I have the chance to get back to Florida I will definitely be coming back to Travinia Italian Kitchen!

Just had the grouper picatta. It was excellent. Prices are relatively good in a very expensive area.

Came here for dinner because I had a gift card and free appetizer card. I was very impressed with the atmosphere, seemed like such an awesome place. It was busy but we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. We sat at one of the booths, which was really nice to be able to see the entire restaurant. We got the Italian Nachos and that was the most delicious part of our dinner. To me, this isn't a traditional Italian restaurant and I was not impressed.

This was our first visit to an Italian restaurant while visiting Destin. The restaurant was large and very tastefully decorated. The hostess was prompt and efficient when seating us. Our server, Abby was so nice and professional, she knew the menu and offered great suggestions to my daughter concerning the spaghetti or chicken parm! The ciabatta bread with garlic and oil dressing is delightful, we also ordered the pan fried calamari and a half order of Italian nachos as appetizers. Both dishes were good but we filled up on appetizers, and couldn't eat much of the entrees ordered, although my son was able to finish his food which consisted of shrimp, spinach and mushroom in a sauce. My daughter ate half of her chicken parmigiana and we all agreed that we had great service and good food! I will go back again during my next visit to Destin. The location was a plus, only a 10 minute drive from Sandestin Golf and beach resort, really got tired of driving 20 minutes in traffic to some other restaurants we visited.

Good wine selection and usually well made drinks. Atmosphere is usually nice and the outdoor firepits are fun. Food is good, not great; presentation is somewhat lacking. Music selection on the patio is often times a headscratcher: sometimes rock, sometimes disco, sometimes dubstep...you never really know.

One of the best meals I have had and it's a chain. The table bread was excellent and the pepper grinder, olive oil is on the table for making your own dip. The lump crab cakes with orzo was great. Everyone had to try the crab cakes and all proclaimed the taste. The cake was largely meat with just a slight filler to hold it together. It had a nice pan brown on it. The meat was that fresh crab sweet. Orzo great and not over powered with the butter sauce. The table also had a couple of Marsala dishes and the sauce was also praised. For the first week open there were very few mis-steps: tea glasses that sat empty just a little long, failure to offer the dessert menu and a delay before the waiter showed up with the check. All super forgivable with a new wait staff which likely included summer only help in this resort town.

Very lovely. Just the right amount of food. I had a chicken dish with spinach and mozzarella , it was delish. My friend had the Veggie Pizza it was really fresh and tasty. The menu is printed in very small type. But they have magnifiers at the desk if you need them. Very friendly staff.

I found the restaurant on yelp and we gave it a try. We went with our 16month old baby that she doesn't have much patient and we got seated in 5 min. Our server was Michael very nice, had a good knowledge of the menu and I got what he recommended(delish ciopinno)He knew we might have to leave because of the baby so he got us the food as soon as it was ready after he put in the order. We also meet the manager that was really nice(I saw him walking through the restaurant very attentive to customers ) and offered us a desert. Really beautiful restaurant and amazing staff, you have to try it

Went here for dinner while on vacation. I was craving italian food and wanted something different from the beach restaurants. It was delicious and definitely hit the spot. The staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly and made us feel at home even though we were on vacation. The manager Jason was a great representaion of a manager who knows what he's doing, I should know since I've worked in the food industry for a long time. Goodluck on your first year of service!

Really great place! We didn't have the best experience at first but they defiantly made up for it! I went with a group of six everyone else's meal was great, however mine wasn't the best. However the manager made sure to make it up to us. After returning my chicken to the kitchen twice he offered to let me change my order. I ending up with a steak and my whole groups order was free. I understand accident happen sometimes, and the portion of the chicken was massive, which explains why it may be difficult to cook. But, the manager did not have to do what he did for us, I would have been happy with just throwing my chicken back on the grill. We are only in Destin for a few days, but I will defiantly try to make it back to Travinia!

Great place with great food! Awesome for family and date night. The kids menu is not printed on the big menu however, so be sure to ask your waiter.

The only good thing is that we had an excellent waiter named Julius. Atmosphere was nice. The food was consistently poor. We were a party of five and all dishes were bad. We started with the antipasta platter. It was fair... Nothing special. Overpriced for amount. Bread was hot and delicious, but come to the table as a whole loaf. It was nearly impossible to cut. We basically had to tear it apart while it was hot and buttered. Don't really know how the table is expected to cut or serve the bread at the table? Next we all ordered salad... Caesars were standard/nothing special. Tossed was bad. The lettuce was brown and old. I sent mine back to the kitchen. I expected to at least have the salad taken off the bill, but it was on the bill until I complained at the end of the evening. The restaurant was not crowded. Several times we saw a manager walking around, but he never spoke to us or came by and apologized for the bad salad. I thought that would have been nice. Next, came our dinners. One person got lasagna. One would think this was a safe choice, but it was so strange we couldn't eat but a few bites. It was all very strong cheese, with hardly any sauce...very dry?! Next, one of us got chicken cannelloni. The pasta and cheese and sauce was ok, but the chicken inside was tough and chewy...which ruined the dish. Next, we had chicken Parmesan. It was way overdone. The chicken was dry and barely had any sauce. We had spaghetti with meatballs and that was the only thing decent. Lastly, we had the flounder with lemon butter sauce. The fish was overcooked and the sauce ruined it all. Don't know if the kitchen tasted it or got seasonings mixed up. The sauce was sweet?! Almost like a glaze. Anyway, definitely did not go on the dish at all. I would not recommend going to this restaurant.

Ok. So I read reviews of this place and had to try it. If there are bad reviews of this restaurant, don't buy it. This was easily the best, most reasonably priced meal we had in destin. Not to mention the fact that the decor of the restaurant was first class. I had the filet which was prepared perfectly. My wife had the seafood cioppino which was freaking fantastic. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I never do this but I called for management just to give them kudos on the food. We had a couple of mediocre overpriced meals in destin and sorely needed to find a place like this. We are thinking of returning before we leave.

My family and I went to your restaurant last night for dinner. It was amazing. One of our dining companions had special dietary needs, and our server Wendy accommodated her requests with a smile and was extremely helpful. The food was excellent and the service was spectacular. As locals, we will definitely be back!

Excellent wait staff in Trevor. The chicken marsala was three chicken fingers(?) in a rue type sauce, thickened, small quantity of sauce, hardly noticeable marsala flavor. Required knife to cut the chicken fingers, obviously not pounded breast medallions. Need to rework this recipe. Pasta was average. Didn't try deserts as they all looked commercial.

The service was great! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere is stunning. One of my favorite places down here. The wine is great too. Sit on the patio, enjoy a bottle of wine, and get the braised short rib pasta. It is out of this world.

Nice service. We went on a Tuesday night and had 25% of bottles of wine. Sit outside by the fire pits for a cocktail. I had the scallops from the small plates but upgraded to the entree size. Perfect! I wouldn't recommend the lobster ravioli. Although good, a little too Rich and you can make them at home (they are not homemade).

Great food and atmosphere but need to work on the service and soup. The complimentary bread was excellent. Soft with a touch if garlic. We loved our dishes the Mia Nona pasta and pollo Isabella. Both were well prepared. The kids pastas the spaghetti and and chicken Alfredo both tasty and good portions. Now things that need improvement in my humble opinion: 1) The pasta soup was ok but not great. It tasted like a chunky tomato meat veggie sauce with few pasta pieces in it. At first, I thought it was the spaghetti that my son got and they were short on pasta! 2) overall service started well but as soon as the place started to get busy, it was like a switch off. No refills on drink and no follow up from the waiter on how the food tasted. The waiter who brought the dishes was different from one who took our order and he places the dishes and asked if we wanted Parmesan and we said yes as the Mia Nona dish was a little dry on the sauce so needed a touch of Parmesan cheese which did make a huge difference. BUT we were almost done eating before the waiter came back with the Parmesan. He went on to wipe other tables. We actually had to catch him and remind him twice and he apologized that he completely forgot. Now, if our waiter who took the order came at any point to ask about how our food was, we would have mentioned the Parmesan or need for drinks refills but she completely disappeared from our area. She came just to give the check at the end. we would consider returning if we are going to have a meal at a off busy time. We hope over time the staff improves performance and service during busy time. We arrived at 630pm on a Thursday. If we are planning on earlier dinner or maybe a late lunch so off peak time, it may have been a better service experience. Once service during peak time becomes more consistent, I would rate my experience 5 stars like other reviewers.

After driving in for Spring Break we were ready for a good meal. We thought we found the perfect spot. This restaurant is gorgeous. But disappointment started immediately when we had to wait at least 5 minutes for someone to greet us- there was no one at the front door. Again at the table, another long wait for the server. The whole meal went like this. Food was decent but not great. As another reviewer said, chicken was tough and overcooked. Short rib rigatoni was good but not stellar. Would have been nice if someone offered us Parmesan cheese. The bread we requested never came. The waitress and manager were busy socializing, otherwise we would have spoken to them. What an expensive let down.

Even though this location has apparently only been open for about 2 weeks, the food is already fantastic. You can tell that the servers and hostess are still a bit green, but it's not much of a problem. I had the Chicken Manganiello and the Marsala cream sauce was fantastic and the pasta cooked perfectly. The appetizer Italian nachos and fried zucchini were very good. Would be happy to return!

Excellent patio and service by Sterling was outstanding. The Italian nachos are an excellent quick snack before going to the adjacent Carmike Theatre. Wonderful salads and entrees.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
